made the announcement NOW to turn over the rightful winnings to The Lucky Dog Rescue I think that your company and especially your staff have made a huge mistake with your handling of this situation. Maybe your PR and marketing dept should come up with a new publicity idea to show Ms Ashley Owen Hill and the community of animal supporters that you are very sorry that this event took place.
This company should be ashamed. The winner of this contest (Lucky Dog Rescue) never received their prize and you have made them jump through hoops to find answers as to why they have not received anything. Shame untrustworthy disrespectful company.
You people need to make good on the prize that was won by Maria & Stacey Mae. What she does with her prize is her business. So many people supported her efforts. Do you really think they all won’t boycot your business if they believe your company is involved in a fraud?
I was disgusted to learn that 1-800-FLOWERS refused to follow through actually awarding the prize for this competion. You may be able to censor the comments on your own FB page 1-800-FLOWERS but FB has many other pages where you can’t censor comments. You should be ashamed of yourselves. It seems like the whole competition was just a publicity stunt without any intention of ever handing over the prize but it has backfired and will continue to do so.

Considering that animal lovers tend ro be the sensitive souls that send flowers, you sure bought yourselves a lot of BAD publicity.

I have been a loyal 1800flowers customer for many years now and I am very disapointed in the way that the contest for the new bunny in town has been played out…. how can you refuse to grant the wish of the winner for the winnings to go to a place that really desperatly needs the dog food.. the rules do not state that the winner cant transfer the prize…. I will not be buying any more flowers from your company… and I will indeed be letting my fellowship of over 3200 know about this as well. shame on you.

There will thousands of people calling for you pt pay up to Lucky Dog and send them the dog food they won. I can’t say I feel sorry for you. Your company needs to honor this pet photo contest. We in the rescue community and FB have thousands, possibly millions on friends. The word that you have not honored what you promised will result in you losing alot of customers. Honor your word, give the 1st prize to the person that won it and make things right.

Really sad that you did not honor you word and give the winner their prize, especially since they were doing an incredibly unselfish act by wanting to donate their prize to a charity. That is so unprofessional . Extremely bad publicity as well because many animal lovers will have this spread all over and will not want to do business with a company that denies the winnings to a charity that could use it and that legitimately won the prize (since their were no official rules stating prize was non transferable ).
This contest was a sham for plubishity. I voted and shared to help a friend win dog food for a rescue and thousands of my friends did also. I will never buy flowers from you and will tell everyone I know on Facebook all about how you denied food to animals in need.
I am assuming at this point that you are aware that 1-800-Flowers.com has refused to honor its promotion. The rules did not specify that the winnings were non-transferable or limited to one dog. I will never use 1-800-Flower-com again and would hope that you would not associate yourselves with them again.
